The Barn foundation was built approximately in 1780. It is believed the original barn fell down or burned down and the buildings as you see them now were constructed about 1870 using timbers from the old barn or other old buildings in the area.

The barn was converted to a residence in 1950 keeping the exterior intact and altering the interior to make it a home. The barn has under-gone a complete renovation in 1993. The barn sits on 3+ acres in the heart of Vineyard Haven, overlooking the inner harbor where you can sit in the cool of the porch and watch the ferry and other sailing vessels traverse the waters. There is only a 2 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk to town.
